Melissa's Styles:
Crisp lines have always been my love language. Growing up in Valley Center, I’d draw lines on everything from notebook margins to bicycle helmets long before I touched a tattoo machine. Two years ago I swapped pencils for a tattoo machine starting my career at the Tattoo Temple in Hillcrest, refining a style that mixes feather-thin precision with bold, story-driven imagery. Today I focus on custom linework, delicate florals, black-and-grey botanicals, and playful flash inspired by 90s zines and folk-art posters.
My creative spark comes from you. When a design holds true meaning (memorial dates, trail maps, a lyric that carried you through) it’s your energy that fuels my lines. We’ll start with a relaxed consultation, swap ideas, and watch the piece unfold on my iPad before ink ever meets skin. I tattoo with light-touch rotaries and EU-REACH inks, keep single-use setups non-negotiable, and check in constantly so the vibe stays as easy as two friends talking music.
Off shift, you’ll find me where the air thins: mountain biking ridge trails, strapping on a board after first snow, or disappearing on a three-day backpack with nothing but a good pair of shoes and pour-over packets. I spend my weekends on a yoga mat or in the garden, anything to find my zen. If you’re after trendy flash or whisper-small line work packed with meaning, let’s map it together and bring your vision into reality.
